LIGHT TRAP
INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

SAFETY NOTE

Before any work is attempted you MUST fit the light trap supplied with the system.

1. Remove the backing plate in the wall of your Nicolet Raman Sample area. The plate is ~ 60 mm inches diameter and usually retained by two screws.
2. Remove the 3 off black screws from the light trap. The ring will be released. Note, it has one spare hole to assist you in reassembly. Note its position.
3. Fit the large drum into the hole in the Nicolet Sample Area wall. Offer up the ring on the inner face and reinsert the 3 screws. Make sure you get them straight. Tighten GENTLY.
4. Rotate the light trap so that the aperture is facing downwards. The VENTACON label will now be horizontal. Tighten the three black screws.

NEVER USE YOUR RAMAN INSTRUMENT WITHOUT EITHER THE STANDARD BACKING PLATE OR THE LIGHT TRAP.
